Spin-on filters are used in numerous applications and the entire filter unit is replaced every time the filter is changed. Actually, only the Filter Elements need to be replaced. However, the housing with the other functions is also disposed of, generating millions of tons of waste every year and thus an enormous environmental impact. Recycling does not usually take place due to the large number of materials used. Worse still, the spin-ons have to be disposed of as hazardous waste due to the residual liquids remaining in them.
Our answer to this environmental pollution is the Sustainable filtration concept Blue.on. This concept consists of three components: A plastic lid, a Filter Elements and the valve adapter. This can be easily applied to the existing spin-on interface. And it can be used in Passenger cars, commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery and marine applications.
With the tool-free change, only the exhausted Filter Elements are disposed of - the rest remains on the vehicle and that means 90% less waste!
The cover is characterized by a high-strength plastic. In the adapter, the engine-proof filter bypass valve ensures consistent filtration performance over the service life of the engine. This prevents damage caused by inadequate or even missing valves. And the risk of contamination of the engine circuit by hard particles is also 20 times lower with the Hengst Blue.on.
