Crankcase Ventilation systems are indispensable for running engines cleanly and efficiently. They ensure that blow-by gases, which are unavoidably produced during the compression process of the fuel/oxygen mixture in the engine, are separated. The oil mist-laden blow-by gases are no longer released into the environment without being cleaned. The separated oil is fed back into the oil circuit and the combustion gases (Crankcase Ventilation) into the intake tract.
In the so-called "impactor variant", the oil in the blow-by gases is filtrated via a fleece and discharged back into the crankcase. The cleaned gases are fed into the intake tract. This protects engine components such as the intercooler or turbocharger. Oil consumption is reduced and combustion is improved.
