The filtration specialist Hengst SE and the leading automotive supplier for sensor technology and electronics paragon GmbH & Co. KGaA, want to break new ground in cabin air filtration and have recently entered into a strategic partnership. By combining the expertise of both companies, the aim is to bring filtration solutions to the market that keep fine dust, bacteria, fungi and viruses out of vehicle interiors in the long term.
This collaboration unites two worlds. As a technology provider, paragon has played a leading role as a developer of innovative sensors and electronics for more than 30 years. At Hengst, we have been pioneering filtration solutions to make the planet a cleaner place for more than six decades. Hengst and paragon are working together on the series production of an electrostatic cabin air filter that sets new standards in terms of safety, size, durability and energy efficiency by combining two technologies: The interaction of the charging of the particles in the air flow, through the components for which paragon is responsible and a polarization of the Filter medium developed by Hengst, also achieves permanently high separation values with minimal differential pressure. Thanks to the joint pre-development, both partners ensure an innovative system solution for the market with considerable added value for customers.
Optimally matched components from paragon and Hengst guarantee maximum filtration performance. At the same time, the coordination effort of both partners is significantly reduced.
The collaboration increases the speed of development and creates valuable synergies, as it allows the company to focus on its own core competencies: filtration at Hengst and ionization and electronics at paragon.

This results in maximum protection against pollutants, viruses and allergens, improved energy efficiency thanks to low flow resistance, minimal size and a long service life with low filtration loss. "We have not yet identified any approach on the market that can offer comparable filtration performance in such a compact installation space," says Christopher Heine, summarizing the core benefits of the innovative electric air filtration system from the two Westphalian companies.
